Time Is Flying
Dear Friends,
When I was growing up, I remember being told by adults that “the older you get, the faster time goes by.” As a kid this made no sense to me—birthdays and Christmas seemed to take forever to come along. Yet the older I get, the more I understand the reality of that expression!
It’s hard to believe, but September has arrived, and we are beginning a new program year at church. We have a lot of wonderful things to look forward to this fall at St. Alban’s:
• New Beginnings Sunday is on September 8th. We will have a “Potluck of Hors D’oeuvres” party— everyone is invited to bring a favorite appetize to share.
• WOW! will resume on Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30pm at Calvary Lutheran Church
• The Wednesday 11:00am Bible Study will begin on September 18th.
• A churchwide Safe Church training session is coming soon.
• We will gather with our furry friends for the “Blessing of the Animals” on Sunday, October 6th at 3:00pm.
• An all-age field trip to St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville is being planned for a Saturday this fall
• We will celebrate our Fall Dinner & Silent Auction on Saturday, November 9th from 6-9:00pm.
And many more opportunities for fellowship and growth in faith!
This fall, I encourage you to take a full and active part in the life of our church. Please watch your bulletins and email notices for more details on these events, and join us
for a great new year at St. Alban’s!
See you in church,
Rev. John Peters, Rector
